Project Description

Do you know what happens this Sunday? Yes, it is the day after my wedding anniversary, how kind that you remembered! But, that’s not what I meant.
It is…THE RETURN OF DOWNTON ABBEY! I’m kind of excited. Obviously.

When last we left our star-crossed lovers, Bates the valet was convicted of killing his crazycakes ex, Vera, sending his fresh-from-the-alter wifey, Anna, into hysterics. What will become of our favorite couple? I don’t know, but I’ve decided to do something about it.
These protest signs are the perfect accessory to voice your dissent. Grab a cookie and join the rally! Which sign would you like?
We have the clean, classic “Free Bates”:

This version has a bit of whimsy to it:

We’ve got the classic Bates silhouette here:

And, of course, who couldn’t resist a sketch of our favorite valet?

Are you excited for the new season? Which characters have you missed the most? I can’t wait to see Sybil and Branson return to the abbey. Because it won’t be awkward…at all. Oh, and Mr. Carson, how I adore thee. If you’re a lucky Brit who has already seen season 3, please no spoilers for the lowly Americans!
This awesome creation may be linked up to one of these link parties.Â

I must say, the second I seen these on Lilaloas link up I KNEW you made them! So very clever, super cute, and I totally love this show.
Aww, thanks, Nicole! I’m kind of in love with them
And, counting down the minutes until the premiere on Sunday!!
I’m so ready for the show i have it scheduled in my phone with 3 different alerts.
Haha, nice! That reminds me…I gotta make sure Tivo is scheduled to record it. Now because I won’t watch it live, because I absolutely will, but because I want to watch it over and over again 😉
love them– can’t wait for the show
Thanks, Elizabeth! I’m kinda looking forward to it myself 😉
OMG!! These are so incredible, Jennifer!! I’m a HUGE Downton Abbey fan and these are so creative. I want time to hurry up and be Sunday already (but slow down after the show so I can still enjoy the weekend.)
Aww, thanks so much, Mike! A power outage yesterday (!!!) made it a smaller set, but I love them and was so happy to get them done
Can’t wait until Sunday!!
Dude, I love you with these cookies!! I’m so stoked for Downton Abbey and these cookies just made my morning
You’re awesome Jennifer!!
Thanks so much, Michelle! They almost didn’t happen due to an unforeseen power outage yesterday!! (with a perfectly clear sky too!) But, I just had to stay up and get them done
The premiere can’t come soon enough for me!!
I LOVE these cookies almost as much as I love Downton Abbey 😉 Pst: I’ve seen the whole third season and… WOW!
Ahhhhh – can’t wait!!
I love these. Fantastic! And yes, I can’t wait for Season 3 to start.
Thank you, Lora!
We are probably the only people on the planet who have yet to start watching this series. It’s on our list to do this year. I’m sure I’ll be hooked on it like everyone else. I hear Shirley MacLaine has joined the staff and her with Maggie Smith must be wonderful to see.
Your cookies are awesome!
My husband and I were late to the series too, we caught up on Netflix/Amazon. It is so worth it, Paula!
The acting is superb and everything is so gorgeous
ABSOLUTELY adore these cookies!!! I love Bates!
Thanks so much, Lene!!
I’ll be honest – I don’t watch Downton Abbey but these cookies are so stinking cute!
Oh, it is SO good, Chung-Ah! I didn’t understand the hype – I mean, historical dramas aren’t usually my thing
But, I feel in love with it and my husband and I had to catch up on Netflix/Amazon on Demand.
These cookies are awesome on so many levels. I am head-over-heels for Downton Abbey fan and desperately hope that Bates and Anna will be reunited this season. Also really excited about Mary and Matthew’s developments – – and Carson, dear Carson. You almost start to feel like you know these people!
You’re totally right on that one! I’ve missed them so much this past year
So glad you like the cookies, Lauren!
Love these, Jennifer! Especially the silhouette sign! I’m a big fan of DA too. I just watched the first episode of Season 3 and I’m still in love. Although I have to say I tire a bit of Mr. Bates’ saga. I’d mostly wave a sign for Anna.
Haha – I watched the premiere too and the pace of the Bates story is a little slow to me, while other parts of the story are zooming by! (trying to say this without spoilers, of course!). There was quite a bit of witty one-liners too, which I enjoyed greatly!
I thought I was the only one who had never watched Downton Abbey, but now I see I am in good company with Paula:) I guess I had better watch it to see what all the excitement is about! In any event, your cookies are fabulous!
Oh, it is wonderful, Sue! Even my husband likes it, which he might not admit to his guy friends 😉
I love these cookies!!!! How cute lol!!!! I’m a huge Downton Abbey fan, and this is such a fun idea!!!! Love it! :o)
Thanks so much, Maria!
Hi,
These are fab! I don’t watch the show (which is shameful as I’m British!) but I can appreciate some great cookies! And I know the new season feeling, I get totally over-excited over the return of my favourite shows!
shel
Thank you, Shel! I’m so glad you like them
In England, all of Season 3 and the Christmas special have been shown already. I guess I won’t tell you what happened haha. Enjoy!
Haha, yes, no spoilers, please!! 😉 I’m excited to see what happens!
These are spectacular! You’ve got crazy talent girl! Are you in the UK then or a fan of Downton Abbey? I’m a Brit myself.
Also, thanks for linking up on Sugar & Slice Sunday link party. You’ve been featured! Hope to see you sharing at the new party.

You are so creative! Lovely idea and cookies!
Thank you!
[…] Did your favorite make the list? I was surprised that no sugar cookies made the list (even though I know I didn’t post as many this year). I still love my Downton Abbey cookies! […]
This are so cute! I’m so excited for the new season!
Me too, Laura!
Okay maybe I totally missed it, but is there a tutorial somewhere to do the lettering? It’s amazing!
Hi Kelly! I cheated and used a KopyKake for the lettering – sorry! I definitely struggle with lettering on cookies and I think the key is the right consistency and PME tips!
Oh my goodness I did not know such an amazing machine existed! No apology needed, I am going to have to get me one of those! genius. hope you and the little one are well!
Oh yeah, it is awesome!
